Hi Everyone,

I am going to try and post some documents that I have found throughout my research. Many of you are interested in seeing these documents so I will try to slowly post them right here on the Forum.

This document is interesting because it is a letter written by P&W to Chief of the Waste Management Division. This document details specific details about contamination at the P&W site:

Is there a way to enlarge them as my only internet access is on a laptop and it is not readable on my end?

I can't read it. It's like chopped in half.

Yes - Just click on to PAGE on your browser's toolbar  - then click ZOOM & choose 150% or higher -

I found 150% to be comfortable to read & not too big...

Hi Everyone,

The documents are really hard to see on the screen however if you want, you can right click on the document and copy and paste it to Word. You can see it perfectly in that format.

Sorry about that. This is the only way I can get these documents to you.

You don't really need to do that - just use your browser's PAGE menu - click ZOOM & choose 150% &

the letters become very clear.. just change back to 100% after reading them

WOW - significant stuff here... Thanks for sharing!  PCBs grabs my attention  & reminds me of a fire in 1984 in the power room of the "New World Tower" on Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami.   There was some litigation against FPL re: the buildng being uninhabitable afterwards - for months  because of the release of PCBs.      You see,  between aprox  1970s - 1984 there was an issue with the EPA & FPL re: old transformers which contain PCB-filled didactic fluid. - The aging transformers were leaking and a risk not only to people thoughout the FPL area but to their own workers. After the fire, the New World Tower was closed for - gee, at least months because of the PCB contamination resulting from the realease of PCBs during the electrical fire, The owners couldn't lease a square inch of that building afterwards.

.   Also at  issue; the FPL workers who were in the building unprotected making repairs initially. The fire companies that responded  - I  recall may prepped for HazMat. - I want to see if I can pull any online articles that far back

because I'm not sure I'm accurate if  the Fire Dept. also litigated.

PCBs are highly carcinogenic. By the same token, since they can be evaporated into the air, it's possible that  any area  that  had old power transformers most likely had them leak PCBs at some time ...  But the liquid concentrations mentioned in these documents is a bit alarming IMHO.

If you pulled these docs from EPA - you may be able to get the ones relating to FPL & the NWT bldg. litigation. I think it may be relative to a certain degree in this instance..  BTW - the building is still there & has since been resold at least twice & is occupied by a number of offices.

The following snap shots are from a report dated October 1998. It is over 53 pages long, and it is too big for me to post on the Forum. The document is titled RCRA Corrective Measures Study Revision 1 - Soils and it was prepared for United Technologies/P&W by the EPA:
