About Me
I am the mom of Jenna, who was diagnosed in 2005 at the age of 3 of Ependymoblastoma, a brain tumor. The tumor was removed and she was treated aggressively for 7 months with chemo and radiation but the tumor returned 2 months later. Another surgery to remove the tumor and different chemo couldn't stop or even slow down the cancer. When it returned a third time there were multiple tumors and we were told there was nothing else that could be done. She passed on 15 months after her diagnosis. The more I hear and read about brain tumors the more suspicious I become about the area we live in. I want to thank Jennifer and Greg for being bold enough to bring this to the attention of the media. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Courtney, Tara (9) and Jacob (4) both attend an independent school that I work for. Tara's campus is in Palm Beach and Jacob's is on Flagler Drive. Jenna did not attend school here either. Because of the # of adults that are being affected I would be surprised if the cause is anything in the school's out here. One question that I'm not sure of is where the schools and businesses (restaurants, grocery stores, etc) in our area get their water supply from? I'll find out. That would be my main concern - if the schools are on a well, I'd send bottled water to school with my child. And I'm not certain where the cause of these cancers is coming from. I don't know 100% it is the water. But until I do know, we are drinking bottled water.
Well, I believe that if you can keep your cool, that I certainly can! Do you mind if I ask if your children are in school? I have one starting Kindergarten out here in the fall and just do not know if it's a good idea now.
Thanks, Courtney
I am just heartbroken for you and your family, Kaye. I fear that the same government who has allowed this to happen to our community is now the government who is supposed to help us. I have 2 young boys and wonder if you would suggest a CT scan, knowing what you know now? I think that you are very brave and strong to be able to share Jenna's story with all of us. Thank you!
I'm so sorry about the loss of your precious little girl, Jenna. Thank you for sharing her story.
